calling you

a last minute attempt to keep my blog from dying!

anyway, it's prob too late to update about asean schools, so here are a few pictures!

farewell dinner!

hmm i guess some of the more memorable events from asean schools would be

1. rooming with wanting in our freaky room with the flying cockroach and spoilt controller thing which kept turning the music on suddenly!

2. exploring the hotel with wanting on the day we overslept and missed lunch! since we didnt want to fall into the piggish cycle of sleeping eating and watching tv xD also known as the day we found the big mouth dolls! haha! :D

3. watching the exorcism of emily rose! and the haunting. scary!

4. the competition pool! with the lack of timing boards on the other end and the scary starting blocks and the horrible lack of chairs at our rest area!

5. the shopping of course! :D

6. the (second) last night when parker and i came up with the last minute scavenger hunt and nearly got into trouble with the hotel people cuz the groups kept stampeding around and making alot of noise!

that's about it i think. ha.

and after we came back, there was the National Dog Walk at west coast park on sunday, 5th aug!
met weiming joash yujun pong yongyao youkai jason at clementi mrt before cabbing down to west coast.
we reached at 12.30 when we were supposed to reach at 12 i think. so we were sort of late and the person in charge kept hurrying us to start work.
there was alot to do!
helped shift and set up tables for the stalls, then helped unload stuff from the vans for the various stalls and for the goodie bags.
most of the time was spent packing the goodie bags assembly line-like!
we had about 1000 bags to pack!
but i think we did less than that in the end cuz we ran out of stuff.

after arranging all the bags nicely in neat rows, we had to start distributing the sponsors' brochures and flyers into the bags, which was quite back breaking work!
having to stand up and stoop down and stand up and stoop down. kind of like planting rice.
haha!
and because it took so long to pack the goodie bags, and singaporeans are so kiasu, we weren't even done when the queue started!

so it was time to collect tickets and shout out orders and deal with people who kept insisting that they lost their coupons but could they get a goodie bag anyway?
and those who kept asking why the goodie bags were different and blah blah.
goodness.

i think at around 6+ the seemingly neverending queue finally dwindled.
and our job was done!
so we got a chance to walk around the place for the first time since we stepped into the goodie bag area o.o
there were many many many dogs!
haha some were very cute (:

and they had dinner provided for us but we were too tired to wait so we trooped to vivo city which was a few bus stops away.
had dinner and then b&js! (:
the merlionster! which was 6 scoops + 1 free scoop on account of national day!
just right for the 6 of us. ha.
celebrated yongyao's birthday there!
okay it wasn't really much of a celebration, we just sang him a birthday song and gave him a brownie!
but it's the thought that counts :p

and yesterday it was national day!
the water screen was amazing!
and the fireworks were really pretty! (:
